    It has to do with their producer Steve Lillywhite. Lillywhite produced U2′s first three albums (Boy, October, and War), and he came back to produce How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, which is their 14th (they wanted to go back to a more rock-like feel). Hence, 1, 2, 3, 14.
